Her approach focuses on body awareness, musicality, connection, and active following. She has earned multiple competition placements in Pista and Milonga categories in U. S. and has been a finalist multiple times. Rena is the co-creator of the Bay Tango Festival & Marathon and founder of La Cadencia Tango in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she continues to teach, perform, organize, and foster a warm and welcoming tango community.
